The event will take place on Thursday\, October 2nd\, 2014. The evening will feature local breast cancer survivors who are teaming up with professional dancers from Fred Astaire Dance Studio in Chagrin Falls to perform ballroom style dances. All proceeds from this event will directly benefit survivors in Ohio and will help to fulfill the mission of The Pink Fund. Dancing With The SurvivorsSM is a signature fundraising event in conjunction with Fred Astaire Dance Studios to benefit The Pink Fund. The evening celebrates breast cancer survivors who thrive in their recovery and make a difference in the lives of other cancer patients. Breast cancer survivors across the country are paired with Fred Astaire Dance Studio professionals\, and participate in a dance showcase featuring various ballroom dances to raise funds to support The Pink Fund's mission: 90 days of non-medical financial assistance to Ohio breast cancer patients in active treatment. Unable to work\, patients often face catastrophic financial losses. The Pink Fund provides individuals in active treatment with up to 90 days and a cap of $3\,000 of financial assistance to cover non-medical expenses\, such as health insurance premiums\, housing\, transportation and utilities. Payments are made directly to their creditors. By providing this financial bridge\, The Pink Fund's limited\, yet critical financial assistance can help to prevent some of these losses\, most importantly ensuring an individual's access to continuing care. The Pink Fund helps to meet basic needs and decrease stress levels.
