DESCRIPTION:Vivid Watercolor Artworks by Dean Sladek\n\n	May 8 to June 30\, 2013\n\n	Opening Reception and Artist Talk Wednesday May 15 at 3:00pm\n\n	Hamlet Atrium\n\n	Show hours are 10am to 6pm daily. \nDean Sladek's professional life as a commercial artist spanned 45 years as an illustrator and retoucher. He was a master of the air-brush with his work appearing in Time Magazine\, US News & World Report\, Fortune Magazine\, and others. Dean worked directly with studios\, agencies\, and corporations such as GE\, Parker-Hannifin\, and Telarc Records. His work has received both local and national awards. One such award was Telarc's compact disc cover\, "Beethoven or Bust" illustrated by Dean. This CD cover won the 1989 Classical Cover for that year. Since his retirement\, he has devoted his art to transparent watercolors. "Transparent watercolor is exciting\," he says\, "and it's challenging!" Dean's transparent watercolor "Washing in the Ganges" was published in the 20th anniversary edition of the North Light publication "Splash 12-Celebrating Artistic Vision." He was one of the 100 artists chosen out of thousands of entries submitted for the 2011 hardcover publication showcasing the best in contemporary watercolors. Dean's work has won awards in the Gates Mills Art Show\, The Fairmount Art Show\, The Russell Art Show\, and others
