SUMMARY:Your HomeTown Chagrin Falls Historic Home & Garden Tour 2017
DESCRIPTION:Your HomeTown Chagrin Falls is proud to present the Chagrin Falls Historic Home & Garden Tour. The Walking Tour will take place Friday\, June 2nd from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and on Saturday\, June 3rd from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Featured are five select historic homes and gardens located throughout the village and within walking distance of downtown Chagrin Falls. There are three tour homes on East Washington Street\, one on Maple Street\, and a lovely historic home garden on South Franklin Street. The houses are predominantly examples of nineteenth century architectural styles and types in the Italianate style by important Chagrin Falls builders\; all representing the historic architecture and lifestyle of the Village of Chagrin Falls.\n\nHomes demonstrate historic village architecture spanning from 1852 to the turn of the twentieth century including wood frame and brick construction. An 1877 South Franklin Street home was constructed by builder Frank Hunt\, known for the invention of the Stranahan Folding Boat\, with a beautiful modern garden hidden to the rear just off the main street. The 1874 George Ober House designed in the Italianate style is the new home to the Chagrin Falls Historical Society\, stewards of Chagrin Falls' history. Two East Washington Street homes represent the work of earlier builders and Englishmen William Hutchings\, John Facey and Reuban Walters with Italianate style influences. The Maple Street home represents a modern renovation of a historic village home.\n\nSpend the day and experience the ambiance and style of these homes which are part of the important architectural heritage of the Village.
