Local artist Vernon Kauffman starts off the Chagrin Falls Branch Library’s 2012/2013 Art Series with a presentation of his work. The show runs during the months of September and October during library hours. Please join us for light refreshments, meet the artist and admire his artwork on Thursday, September 6 @ 5:00 PM. Mr. Kauffman is a retired architect and long-time resident of Chagrin Falls who is also an accomplished painter and woodcarver (Kachina dolls). Scherenschnitte, which means "scissor cuts" in German and is the art of papercutting design, is a centuries-old craft practiced in many countries, but notably Poland, Germany, and Switzerland. He has exhibited his paintings in many art shows and galleries and has won several awards. He also exhibited his Kachina dolls at the Chagrin Falls Library.
