Let Joan Ellison and Mark Flanders transport you back to the 1930s with a “live” radio show, performing the music of George and Ira Gershwin. Act I begins in Manhattan, with songs that capture the fascinating rhythms of the Gershwins on Broadway. Then fly out to art deco Hollywood, as Act II brings the revered tunes the brothers penned for the Silver Screen. Duo-pianists Jason Aquila & Jodie Ricci and vocal girl trio The Melody Maids make for an afternoon full of beloved favorites, including They Can't Take That Away From Me, I Got Rhythm and 'SWonderful.
Includes a pre-concert talk by Don Rosenberg, former Plain Dealer Music Critic, at 2pm in the Performing Arts Center’s Studio Theatre - free to all ticket holders.
Items from the Chagrin Falls Historical Society will be on display in the lobby.
