Chagrin Arts will wrap up its 2013 Performing Arts Series with The Musical Theater Project’s presentation of “The Making of The Music Man.” This multi-media concert will incorporate Chagrin Valley students in telling the story behind one of the most beloved, great American musicals of all time.
The performance will explore the creation of one of America’s favorite musicals: the story of charming con man Harold Hill and how he changes the lives of the “Iowa Stubborn” folks who live in River City, 1912. The concert will use clips from the movie and feature all of the songs introduced by Robert Preston, Barbara Cook and the Buffalo Bills – including Goodnight, My Someone, Ya Got Trouble,Till There Was You,Lida Rose, and Seventy-Six Trombones. Chagrin Valley students, under the direction of Chagrin Falls Schools Music Department Chair Pat Haynish, will help The Musical Theater Project’s professional chorus tell the fascinating story of the musical’s creation.
