This practical, advice-filled class at the Chagrin Falls Branch Library will cover the do's and don'ts of an author’s query letter to a book agent. We will analyze examples of well-written letters that adhere to the one-page structure, with particular focus on the beginning, middle and closing of a query letter. Additional information includes resources on where to send your queries, how many queries to send, responding to agents, common rejections and what they mean, and what to know after the query is mailed. Former high school teacher Mara Purnhagen is the author of four young adult novels, including Past Midnight and One Hundred Candles, and two novellas published by Harlequin Teen. She was featured in the March/April 2010 issue of Writer's Digest. Registration requested for this free program (440-247-3556).
