Summer History Series with Western Reserve Historical Society

Hamlet Village will present a summer history series with Western Reserve Historical Society Executive Staff. Three topics on Cleveland History will be discussed: Economics, Automobiles, and Holdings of the Museum.
August 7: Cleveland Economic History with Dr. Edward Pershey, Vice President for Museum Special Projects and Exhibits. Cleveland history is presented from the perspective of the companies and technologies that shaped the economic structure of the greater Cleveland community.
August 14: The Vehicles of the Western Reserve with Derek E. Moore, Crawford Curator of Transportation. This presentation considers the vehicles built in the Western Reserve region form the late 1800s until 1932 when Peerless built its last automobile. Examples from the Crawford Auto Aviation Collection will be featured.
August 21: Treasures of Western Reserve Historical Society with Dean Zimmerman, Chief Curator. The richness and diversity of WRHS holdings are presented in a PowerPoint presentation. The objects cover a 400-year period and express the history of Cleveland and the Western Reserve as well as the wider impact of the peoples of Northeast Ohio on the nation and world.
