Low Voltage Installer Technician
Posted: 07/25/2025RadioActive Electronics is actively seeking a skilled and motivated Low Voltage Technician to join our team in Middlefield, OH. This hands-on role involves the installation, wiring, and maintenance of low voltage systems, including data networks, security systems, fire alarms, and audio-visual setups. A strong emphasis is placed on audio video installations, including home theaters, speaker systems, flat-screen TVs, and outdoor entertainment setups. The ideal candidate will assist senior technicians in the field, working on a variety of projects in residential, commercial, and industrial environments.
Key Responsibilities: Assist with the installation and wiring of low voltage systems (CCTV, access control, fire alarms, data networks, A/V systems, etc.). Pull, run, and terminate low voltage cabling (Cat6, Cat6a, coaxial, speaker wire, and fiber optics). Install and configure devices such as cameras, sensors, control panels, switches, outlets, TVs, speakers, and home theater equipment. Set up indoor and outdoor audio-visual systems, including mounting TVs and configuring entertainment zones. Install and configure wired and wireless networking systems. Conduct basic system tests to verify proper functionality and correct wiring. Maintain a clean and organized job site; store tools and materials properly. Follow all safety protocols and ensure compliance with industry standards and local building codes. Assist in troubleshooting and repairing existing low voltage systems under supervision. Support system setup and configuration tasks as needed. Document installation details, including cable routes, system configurations, and any issues or resolutions. Participate in job site cleanup and ensure a safe working environment daily.
Requirements: Basic knowledge of low voltage systems and installation practices. Familiarity with cable types: Cat6, Cat6a, coaxial, speaker wire, and fiber optics. Ability to read and follow wiring diagrams, schematics, and manuals. Basic understanding of network installation and configuration. Strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn new skills. Comfortable working in various environments (indoor/outdoor, heights, confined spaces). Physical ability to lift and carry tools and equipment as required. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. Good communication skills; ability to follow directions and work well in a team. Basic troubleshooting skills and a desire to grow within the trade.
