Cleveland’s Great Lakes Exposition of 1936-1937
Come to the Chagrin Falls Branch Library to hear the story of how right in the middle of the Great Depression, Cleveland put on the biggest party it ever threw. It covered 135 acres of lakefront land, from the old Municipal Stadium to what is now Burke Lakefront Airport. Among hundreds of attractions were the Donald Gray Gardens, Streets of the World and Billy Rose’s Aquacade. The program is through the Western Reserve Historical Society with John Vacha, local historian and author as the presenter. Cleveland's Great Lakes Exposition is part of the University Circle in the Valley cultural series sponsored by the Friends of the Chagrin Falls Branch Library. Registration requested for this free program (440-247-3556).
