Meet the Author & Book Signing Event with Andrea Thome, Author of Walland
Can broken hearts risk love again? That is the age old question Andrea Thome, former broadcast journalist and longtime wife of retired major league baseball player, Jim Thome, explores in her debut novel, Walland. Fireside Book Shop is hosting Andrea Thome, author of the anticipated romance novel Walland. Andrea’s novel features an intriguing cast of characters who embark on an adventure of love and personal exploration. Thome is donating proceeds from the signing to Fieldstone Farm Therapeutic Riding Center. The Thomes know first hand the therapeutic power of horses and and have had a long connection with the Farm. Thome is no stranger to journalism and a book is something she’s thought about writing for a while. The death of her mother almost two years ago spurred her into action. Walland is dedicated to her mom, who was also a writer. At times, she borrowed from her own life experiences while writing, leaving her own personal footprints as her characters came to life on the pages before her. About the novel: India’s life has always gone according to plan. But when she decides to call off her high-profile wedding and take time off from her network television job, everything turns upside down. Tranquil Blackberry Farm in the moody Smoky Mountains of Tennessee was supposed to be a place she could hide out and lick her wounds. Instead she finds herself questioning everything she ever thought she wanted. Wyatt is a man with scars that run deep. He’s built a careful life for himself, and he has no intention of letting anyone get close to him . . . again. But what happens when two people who are running away from love run right into one another? Will the intense chemistry they feel be enough to overpower their fears? Or will their time together in the Smoky Mountains end with broken hearts?“It’s not a new premise, but I hope it’s one that was written about with a fresh perspective, an open heart, and a bit of wit thrown in for good measure,” Thome said about writing a love story. “There is so much about our world that weighs us down, I wanted to write something light and happy, and set it in a place that I absolutely love and think everyone should visit, at the very least between the pages of Walland.” To learn more about the author, please visit http://www.andreathome.net.
