Position Summary
The Chagrin Valley Chamber of Commerce is seeking a versatile, community-minded Office Assistant to support our daily operations and vibrant event calendar. This role is a point of contact for our members, local business owners, and visitors. The ideal candidate is a proactive multitasker who enjoys a mix of administrative tasks, creative digital work, and community engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
Office Tasks:
Greet visitors with a professional and welcoming demeanor.
Answer incoming phone calls and general email inquiries.
Prepare and organize documents, including membership packets and meeting materials.
Perform general administrative tasks to ensure the office runs smoothly.
Digital Communications & Marketing:
Assist with creating engaging social media content to promote Chamber members and community events.
Assist with drafting and distributing member communications using Constant Contact.
Design basic graphics and promotional materials (posters, flyers, digital assets).
Perform routine updates to the Chamber website to ensure information is current.
Event Support:
Attend and assist with Chamber events (ribbon cuttings, networking mixers, annual festivals).
Capture high-quality photos during events for use in marketing and social media.
Assist with event setup, registration, and post-event breakdown.
Other Duties:
Handle additional projects and administrative tasks as assigned by the Executive Director.
Qualifications & Skills
Technical Proficiency: Strong computer skills are required. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite/Google Workspace is essential.
Creative Tools: Preferred experience with Canva and Constant Contact
Social Media Savvy: Familiarity with managing professional profiles on Facebook and Instagram
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on customer service.
Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a dynamic office environment.
Photography: Basic eye for photography to capture the "spirit" of the community at local events.
Work Schedule
This is a part-time position requiring 15–20 hours per week. While standard office hours are preferred, some flexibility is required to attend early morning or evening events as needed.
Pay Range$15- $18 per hour based on experience.
