Artist Reception: Johnston/Morris/Gephart/Dorsey and Plein Air Painting

The Friends of The Gates Mills Branch Library will be featuring artists in the Gates Mills Branch Library meeting room every two months. Ron Johnston, Betsi Morris, Brant Gephart and Eileen Dorsey will be featured starting July 1st and their show will run for approximately six weeks during library hours. A special artist reception to be held on July 6th from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM. Light refreshments will be offered. Come meet the artists and discuss their work. Our group of Plein air artists have been painting out of doors at the Chagrin Valley Nursery and Gates Mills in the summers of 2011 and 2012. We reflect the painterly styles of illustration, impressionism, and the abstract. The divergent styles on the same subject will offer a comparative for the casual observer. The mediums are watercolor, oil, and acrylic on canvas and paper. The artists painting in this group are Barbara Benedict, Eileen Dorsey, Brant Gebhart, Melisa Harris, Ron Johnston and Betsi Morris.
